Gerard Erruz is a composer, performer and researcher based in Graz, Austria. He focuses on new music, with a repertoire ranging from solo works to orchestral music, including the use of electronics. A multidisciplinary interest and background in art and science guide his creative processes with an emphasis on artistic research and the use of new technologies.
He began his musical studies at a young age as a classical pianist and gradually deepened his creative activity as a composer and electronics performer. He studied composition with Ramon Humet and Benet Casablancas in Barcelona, and Clemens Gadenstätter in Graz. As a performer, he took part in the premiere of the opera Shadow. Eurydice says. (2022) by Núria Giménez Comas at Gran Teatre del Liceu.
As a researcher, he holds a Bachelor in Theoretical Physics by the University of Barcelona and a Master’s degree in Sound and Music Computing by the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona.
